The goal of this program is to encourage voter participation among currently registered voters and our high school voting-age population, along with informing them about the sacrifices our veterans made so that we may live in a democratic society. To assist us in driving home this message, we have created the Vote in Honor of a Veteran program. This program highlights the importance of registering and voting by providing first-hand accounts as to the responsibilities of preserving our democracy. By exercising our right to vote we show veterans the respect they deserve for protecting our freedom.

How to submit a Biography

How to submit a Biography

The plan is simple: complete the Veteran Biography Form; family and friends of deceased/MIA veterans may complete the Deceased/MIA Veteran Biography Form.

The submitted biographies are posted on our Veteran Biographies web page and are also integrated into our school outreach program to honor Nassau County veterans.

Your participation is appreciated and will make registering and voting a more personal experience for our voters. It will help voters to understand the important correlation between our veterans' sacrifices and their right to participate in the voting process, along with illustrating the importance of voting to students. It is essential that we do all we can to spread the message of "Keep America Strong and Free-Register and Vote".
